The Oregon Humane Society’s Technical Animal Rescue team, informally known as OHSTAR, was recently featured on KOIN News. The video clip is below. PetFriendlyPDX is proud to be a member of the OHSTAR team. An organization that has been mostly under the radar – most people are unfamiliar with who we are and what we do. We have been known to rescue dogs stuck on cliffs, cats stranded in trees (many!), animals injured on Mt. Hood, assist with disaster relief (Hurricane Katrina) and much, much more.
Our girl Benzi is 16.5 years old and in amazingly great health for her age. She was a sled dog before we adopted her and you might imagine, very fit and active. But we have been watching her stamina and strength dwindle slowly over the years.

The Oregon Humane Society sent members from their OHSTAR (Oregon Humane Society Technical Animal Rescue) team and two employees to support the effort. While there, OHSTAR members sent updates directly from Joplin that have been posted to the OHS website.
